Special Education

Franklin Towne Charter Elementary School staff is dedicated to supporting students with Individualized Educational Programs within the general education curriculum whenever possible. This may be in the form of itinerant services (small group pull-out instruction or small group instruction in the general education class), or team teaching in the general education classroom. Students who may require additional supports can be taught in a Learning Support classroom. This is a small-group setting where they will receive all of their instruction in a particular subject area, separate from the general education classroom. All FTCES staff has received professional development training on meeting the needs of students with learning differences. Special Education staff is available to assist with either modifying or adapting the curriculum to meet the needs of all learners.
